Bike of Theseus
The Bike of Theseus
(with apologies to Plutarch)
The bike wherein Alan returned from Yellowstone had a broken engine,
and was preserved by those of Starr Cycle down even to the time of
2025, for they took away the old parts as they had failed, putting in
new and functioning parts in their places, insomuch that this bike
became a standing example among the motophilosophers, for the logical
question of things that go; one side holding that the bike remained
the same, and the other contending that the engine was new and not
the same and needed to be registered with the DMV.
If you replace all the broken parts in your KTM, is it really the same bike?
